The computer laboratories of MCA have been put on a
fiber optic backbone with 3Com Superstack Switches and have sharable HP Windows
2003, DS-10 Alpha OpenVMS RISC, Red Hat LINUX 8.0 and Red Hat LINUX
9.0 with all the necessary software packages and host of
peripherals such as line printer, laser printer, inkjet printers, scanner, zip
drives, CD writer etc. Total 110 Pentium machines besides the servers are
exclusively allocated to MCA programme.

Internet facility is available to all students
through a dedicated high speed 1Mbps connection from Tata Indicom and a
fiberoptic 1 Mbps line from Exatt Net through two separate Linux Proxy
Servers.

This laboratory facility is open to students for
access on all days including Sundays. It functions in an open shop environment.
|
|
|
| |
Separate Experimental Laboratory is also available
to the students for hands-on unscheduled experiments. Besides these, students
also have access to Red Hat Linux operating system with development environment
for experimental purpose.
