A CSI student branch at Gujarat Law Society (GLS) campus was inaugurated by Shri Sudhirbahi I. Nanavati an eminent lawyer and Honorary Secretary of GLS on 28th August 2004 in the auditorium at GLS. Chairman of CSI Ahmedabad Chapter, Dr. K. S. Dasgupta was invited as guest of honor. Prof. N. R. Shah, Executive Director GLS blessed the student branch and promised to support in its activities. On this occasion Managing Committee members of CSI Ahmedabad chapter and Honorary Treasurer of CSI, Shri. Bipin Mehta was also present. The student branch was formed with 150 student members from GLS Institute of Computer Technology (MCA) and GLS Institute of Computer Application (BCA) of GLS.

Technical lecture were delivered by Dr. K. S. Dasgupta on Satellite Communication and by Prof. T. P. Rama Rao (IIM, Ahmedabad) on Emerging trends of Software product and services.
